
This is a part-time position (24 hours a week)
Job Summary: The Payroll Supervisor facilitates all aspects of payroll & is familiar with all applicable Federal/State payroll tax laws & regulations. Responsible for collecting & entering payroll data (hours worked, taxes, insurance, vacation, 401(k), etc.), tracking payroll records & providing a high level of customer service to our staff. This position also supports the Staff Accountant in various month/year-end closing activities. Duties & Responsibilities: * Lead in payroll processing to include tax filing, reporting, and reconciliation * Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are accurate and timely * Ensure individual employee withholding is correctly applied in the payroll system * Reconcile payroll prior to final calculation, processing, and validate confirmed reports * Participate in testing newly applied tax updates or PeopleSoft patches/bundles pertaining to payroll and/or time & labor * Experience with year-end payroll processing and W2 corrections * Troubleshooting time entry problems and reconciling discrepancies with various incentive, deferred, or other payment processes * Point of contact for internal and external financial controls reviews * Point of contact for various ad hoc report requests * Manage communications of payroll needs and process improvements with all Acclarent department managers as needed in particular but not limited to Human Resources and Operations * Conduct new hire payroll orientation as needed * Various other special projects Qualification: * High school diploma with a minimum 3-5 years industry experience in a manufacturing business * Flawless attention to details * Relevant accounting courses and/or seminars highly desired * Experience with manufacturing focused ERP systems, QAD a plus * Good working skills with office productivity software including spreadsheet, word processing, email, and other software applications * Recent hands-on experience (preferably within the past year) with ADP Pay Expert Payroll Services * Experience with the Administration of all aspects of 401(k) plans, including the initiation of semi-monthly, loans, & reporting & audits * Solid understanding of federal/state wage & tax laws * Familiarity with General Ledger entry/reporting * The ability to research & resolve client & system issues in a timely manner
